I’m from Brussels, I’m born there. But as I have Serbian origins my name doesn’t sound Belgian at all. So during my entire life everytime I said my name (at shops, uni,…) everyone keeps asking me “where are you from?” As if having other origins doesn’t make me a ‘real’ Belgian. It has upset me sometimes.
